The Dance Space 

The Dance Space is home to two contemporary dance companies and the rehearsal base for other grassroots Oahu dance groups and companies. It is The Dance Space's desire to promote artistic and meaningful dance of a variety of styles for the Oahu Community.

Convergence Dance Theatre

Convergence Dance Theatre is a small progressive modern dance company made up of diverse voices and choreographic styles formed in 2003 as a co-operative dance ensemble. The mission of CDT is to provide up and coming Honolulu choreographers and performing artists opportunities to create and perform original thought provoking work. Convergence Dance Theatre’s focus on diversity and individuality gives each performance a spontaneous energy unique to the Oahu community.

CDT presents annual full evening length concerts and  community performances. CDT is available for fundraisers, special events and festivals.

Magic In Motion Dance “company”

Magic in Motion Dance is designed for kids who love to dance, be creative and want to perform. This special kids dance company is unique and  inspired by three very successful mainland child based companies; Missoula Children’s theatre, Kalidiscope Dance and Sparkplug dance company. Each of these companies promotes innovative, imaginative and high quality dance by and for children. Magic in Motion is dedicated to the Art and the Creativity of dance. All dancers are intimately involved with all levels of the company; choreography, costumes,  rehearsals and performances. The goal of  Magic in Motion Dance  is to create a  place for children of all abilities to engage in professional and student directed choreography and to perform in various community settings.  

Who can audition? Any Dance Space student who wants to spend more time dancing and performing. Students must be between 7-12 and have at least 1 semester of previous dance training.

Why join the company? Because performing is fun! Expressing  oneself thru dance builds self confidence, independence, and social responsibility.   To get the full dance experience it is best to both practice and perform dance.

 Next Season begins January 2010!
